Arch Hall was built in 1796,was the residence of George Washington’s nephew, Lawrence Lewis and his wife, Martha Washington's grandaughter Nellie Custis. This beautiful 10 acre waterfront estate, with spectacular views of the Potomac River, rests on the banks of Belmont Bay located in historic Fairfax County.

This historic home, close to the largest sanctuary of American Bald Eagles in the United Sates, has 9 original wood burning fireplaces and offers 5 guest rooms. Washington DC is within 20 miles of Arch Hall and the house is only 25 minutes/21 miles from Reagan National Airport. From our door Dulles International Airport is easily reached within 45 minutes/35 miles. Washihgton DC, the national monuments and the Smithsonian Museums are all within a 30 minute drive from our door. Mount Vernon, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall Plantation are all within a few miles for your touring pleasure. Mount Vernon, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall are all open daily to visitors. You may also enjoy the new Workhouse Arts Center where you can visit the artists’ studios, participate in art classes and workshops, attend musical and theatre performances and visit the gallery to take in the latest exhibitions of local, regional and international artists.
